UIB is a typeface system created for the corporate identity and communication of the Universitat de les Illes Balears in 2014. It was commercially launched in 2015. Includes two variants: UIB Sans and UIB Serif.

UIB Sans, the unfinished version, is a sober and modern typography. The diamond shape of the university logo served as a starting point for its design, the diagonal lines are part of its DNA. You just have to look a little bit to see the details at the end of the strokes, see for example the letters "u" and "v", or the capital "N" and "H". This inclination of the lines in the contours and its apparent randomness, endow UIB Sans with a certain dynamism and reinforce its personality as a brand.

The typographic family is presented in three styles with their corresponding italics. It is in the latter where the characters acquire a more condensed structure and are composed of more agile strokes.
